Currently based out of Stephenville, Texas, Dr. Liam Mancuso is a highly skilled psychologist and counselor with over two decades of experience working with patients in various professional settings. Throughout the years, Dr. Liam has worked in Washington, Iowa, Indiana, and now Texas. His experience has included working in university settings, treating geriatric patients in nursing homes, working in crisis psychiatry units, treating substance abuse disorders, and working in a faith-based, multidisciplinary outpatient unit. No matter the setting, Dr. Liam is passionate about helping others overcome psychological challenges and lead healthier, happier lives.
Educationally, Dr. Liam Mancuso did not always pursue a psychology career. In fact, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Accounting. After discovering his passion for psychology, however, he shifted his focus and returned to academics to complete a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology at Washington State University. During his academic years, Dr. Liam had the opportunity to teach several classes and helped facilitate several research projects.
Prior to moving to Texas, Dr. Liam Mancuso spent a few years providing counseling services to patients in medical settings. This included working with an outpatient chemical dependency center, a Brain and Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Center, and a psychiatric unit at a local hospital. These experiences prepared him well for his doctoral studies and future professional roles. After stepping away from medical settings, Dr. Liam Mancuso spent about a decade primarily working in university settings, during which time he completed his doctorate. This included leading individual, couples, group, and crisis counseling and driving student outreach efforts.
After completing his doctorate degree and moving on from the university setting, Dr. Liam Mancuso spent many years running his own private practice and working as a contractor in local nursing homes. Dr. Liam is especially focused on matters related to ADHD testing, geriatric psychology, and faith-based counseling. Dr. Liam is a licensed psychologist who worked with a Christian counseling organization. While Dr. Liam is also a Christian, he and his team provide care to people from diverse backgrounds and welcome the integration of whatever their faith background may be.
Outside of work, Dr. Liam Mancuso has often provided presentations and outreach efforts on various topics. Additionally, at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Liam was a well-recognized swim team member and even helped coach the Iowa State University Women’s Varsity Swim Team for a semester. Dr. Liam Mancuso has been involved in various service-oriented committees and organizations and has always been interested in advocacy and outreach work.
